As part of the 17th Summit of Francophonie organized in Armenia, the Matenadaran hosted an exhibition titled "Armenia-France: Centuries-Old Relations." According to some sources, the earliest testimonies of the relations between Armenia and France date back to the 4th century. The author of the exhibition, mathematician, Armenologist, historian Claude Mutafian, tells about the cultural and political relations of the two countries.
