Armenian Parliament sums up first working week
Armenian Parliament sums up first working week June 24, 2012

The first working week of the Armenian Parliament is over. It was a heavy week with discussions, debates and criticism, all political forces gave this estimation regardless of their policy.

Armenian Deputy Parliament Speaker, Republican Party member Eduard Sharmazanov evaluated the first working week as positive and constructive. According to him, the opposition must criticizes the Government, and the Government must try to give answers to the opposition. This is usual procedure.

Tigran Urikhanyan, the spokesperson of former ruling coalition partner Prosperous Armenia Party, which announced itself to be a constructive alternative, evaluated the first working week as frantic and busy.

The opposition was confused that PAP voted for the Sevan Project. From one side PAP announces itself to be constructive alternative and votes against the Government Program but votes for the Sevan Project at the same time. According to opposition Heritage Parliamentary group head Ruben Hakobyan, there was pluralism in the parliament. According to him the discussions were parliamentary.

Opposition Armenian National Congress MP Lyudmila Sargsyan was also satisfied with the first working week. According to her, the current parliament is different from the previous ones. Lyudmila Sargsyan is also not sure what to make of PAP’s behavior.
